"Simple, aesthetic and durable!"

This is truly a neat kit. The plastic Mantic uses is hard and durable, it contains lots of sprues for making a large variety of terrain and works with other kits.

I bought this alongside a Watchtower kit and combining them gives a huge choice of ways to make easily half a tables worth of ruins in Warhammer: 40000. The modular design means that your buildings can look unique- especially when compared to the GW range!

I would highly recommend this to anyone needing terrain for a 28mm game, such as 40k.

I think Mantic Games have truly raised the bar with their battlezones range. The detail is great and when you have finished your creations they look awesome on the tabletop. The design and build is really simple and fun to put together, just make sure you don't overuse your connector sprue's! Each panel is quite a solid piece of plastic too, so your finished building is not flimsy at all. The ruins panels are also really fun to snap in half or cut a little bit to add some variety to your buildings i.e. Two ruined panels with the large hole in them are exactly the same mould but with a little cutting you can glue them next to each other for a much larger hole. In terms of value this particular deal is so good! For the same price for a GW kit, you could get maybe two buildings. Out of this deal I made two really large buildings (one pushing four levels with a ruined snipers nest cheekily added as a fifth, the other about three levels) and a bunch load of small ruins to dot my tabletop with. Ingeniously, the design is lore friendly with any tabletop game. I play 40k, so no these don't really look ‘grimdark’ or ecclesiastical like imperial architecture all seems to in the game and on the tabletop, however for my games at home I like to think its the ruins of an old human settlement that passed under the radar during the great crusade, and was eventually abandoned with time and its just lying in a wasteland, sturdy prefab colonial buildings that were designed to last, a bit eroded and blasted by countless skirmishes, but still good. Of course if you don't care about ‘creating a narrative’ when you play, then it doesn't really matter cause it looks good anyway. I am definitely going to buy some more battlezones in the future, as they are now a must in all my games at home.

Description

Many of the galaxy’s armies possess enough firepower to devastate an entire settlement, but it is rarely their intention to do so. It is more often the case that the ruin wrought upon such places is simply a consequence of the fighting that rages around them, as buildings pay the price for providing cover and high explosives and energy weapons take their toll.

This set contains 20 assorted Core Worlds and Ruins sprues and 3 connector sprues, allowing you to construct a ruined building. It can be assembled in a variety of different ways, and combined with other sets from Mantic’s Battlezones Tile System range for even more options.

This set contains:

  • 4 x Urban Sprue A
  • 2 x Urban Sprue B
  • 2 x Urban Sprue C
  • 6 x Ruins Sprue A
  • 6 x Ruins Sprue B
  • 3 x Connector Sprue

Figures not included.

Note: Models supplied are unassembled and unpainted.
