Description

This classic guide for writers has been revised and updated to bring it right up to the present day. Over the years, it has held an essential place on the bookshelves of New Zealanders who write, whether that be freelance journalism or book-length publications. A recommended text for writing courses around the country, the Handbook offers advice on a myriad of useful subjects including:where to get your manuscript assessed; how to present your manuscript for publication; researching your family history or whakapapa; apps and authors; writing for children and young adults; details of awards and fellowships; a plethora of writing courses; and the nitty gritty of taxation. As in previous editions, the Handbook offers up-to-date directories of magazines, newspapers and publishers. New chapters look at the art of writing fiction and the basics of digital publishing.
