This book takes you into the world of a male hustler and the encounters with clients, alcohol and drugs and how the author managed to eventually break away from his chosen line of work. An easy read, this book goes into some of the sensitive and finer aspects of male to male sexual contact but manages to do so without too much graphic detail. Being invited into Rick's world of hustling gave me an understanding as to what drives a person to enter this form of employment to begin with. Rick tells us the physical and emotional conflicts and how his addictions could have cost him far more dearly than the money he made. If you are open-minded and want to go along for the “ride” with the author, you'll come away with an understanding of an industry most people never get to experience. Rick has written in an open “bare everything style.” An eye opener. Well written and a period of Rick's life detailed with some diary entries included. My 3 star rating was mainly due to similar content repeated throughout the book, with different people and I felt some of the depictions were a bit indepth; nevertheless an eye-opener of the male to male sex industry for those who have never known it but wanted to discover more about it.

Description

Rick Whitaker divulges the complex reasons that drove him to prostitution and reflects on the cost of a life of half-truths and emotional lies. With an unsentimental eye, Whitaker chronicles his descent and eventual resolution.
