On a beautiful Melbourne evening in November 2008, an audience of nearly 40,000 witnessed the show of a lifetime. André Rieu and his Johann Strauss Orchestra, together with the Imperial Ballet of Vienna, Tanzschule Elmayer, Stars on Ice and the Australian Federal Police Pipe & Drum Band and friends brought Vienna to Australia.
Against the spectacular backdrop of the Schönbrunn Palace, André, his musicians and his entourage entertained the audience with gems from the Austrian capital as well as a host of popular melodies from his ‘second home’, Australia.
This Melbourne concert is the biggest EVER attendance for an André Rieu event!
The repertoire heavily features Waltzes from Vienna & includes popular Australian songs.
Features Australian skaters and Australian pipe and drums band.
The 2CD format features the full live show.

What can I say? From start to finish you are graced with toe-tapping music, dancers, skaters, scenery and fun entertainment. Andre Rieu supplies all you would ask for in concert performances. The men in their tux and the girls in a rainbow of simmering pastel dresses. One look at the faces of the audience tells it all.
