Needed to add a card reader to my PC to make photo transfers easier. The good thing about this is it is USB3 interface so faster transferring than a lot of the old USB 2 options out there. Also has a USB3 port on the front, although I had to use the one USB3 header on the motherboard that was feeding 2 front panel USB3 ports, at least with this unit, I get to still have 1 x front panel USB3 port. Only needed it for SD Cards and tested it with that, but it is multi-card reader. Just check your motherboard has an internal USB3 port available or that you are happy to give up and if you don't have 3.5" bay (a lot of new tower PCs just have 5.25", you will need to get a separate 3.5" to 5.25" drive bay adapter also to mount it. I'm very happy with it and recommend it as good solid product at a good price.
