The device itself is fairly solid, works well under most conditions, but compatibility with Windows 7 is absolutely terrible, it simply doesn't reconnect after you switch to another computer. I realise that it's not guaranteed to work with Win 7, but there should be some kind of warning. The manufacturer website provides no drivers or useful information on this problem.
I managed to work around the issue by plugging it into a powered USB hub and then into the PC.
