Phew! Tokyo Game Show this year was enough to make your head spin, in a good way! These are truly exciting times to be a gamer.
Mighty Ape were lucky enough to get to attend this years Tokyo Game Show on a business day, which meant we could avoid the crowds and get our monkey mitts on some of the hottest games heading our way soon!
It is hard to know where to begin, so I guess I will just dive right in. First things first, let's talk about The Evil Within (named Psycho Break in Japan). It was EVERYWHERE. Every nook and cranny outside Makuhari Messe (the giant convention centre in Chiba where the Tokyo Game Show is held), as well as everywhere inside too – the marketing budget must be HUGE, which means Bethesda are banking on it being a success. I got my hands on a playable demo at the Sony booth, and can safely say this game deserves to be HUGE. It feels like what Resident Evil should have become – a slick psychological survival horror, not the action laden bullet fest the franchise has become. If you long for the time when survival horror meant just that – surviving the horror, then The Evil Within is for you. You can watch the brand new trailer unveiled at TGS here.
