Thanks to the good folks at Battlefront
we've got our hands on one of the new Dust
Tactics starter sets a few days early and couldn't wait to crack it
open and check out What's in the
Box.
There's a starter set available for each of the three factions in Dust
Tactics: the Axis, the Allies, and the SSU. I've
chosen the Axis
Kamprgruppe Stefan for my force, since that means that later on
I can expand out the army with some flamethrower
toting Gorillas!
As you'd expect in a starter set, this Axis Kampfrguppe box comes with all
the essentials which you'll need to start playing Dust Tactics:
- A 44 page Rulebook
- 12 Dice
- 3 Terrain Tiles
- Double Sided Game Mat
- 1 Tank Trap
- 4 Unit cards

Tabletop gamers rejoice, as the massive Deadzone
Boxed Set has just arrived, as well as a host of Deadzone
new releases.
The pre-release edition sold out so fast back in December that we didn't get
a chance to take a look at the contents more closely, so lets take a look at What's in the
Box!
The Deadzone
Boxed Set contains two faction starter forces, the Enforcers and
the Plague, as well as their faction decks which contain the rules and
stats for each of the models. These faction starters provide all the
model's you'll need to start playing regular sized games and offer a number of
different ways to customise your force.
Also included is the full colour rulebook, with the core rules and background
for Deadzone, 130 colour cardboard counters to mark objectives and keep track
of in-game effects and 6 eight sided dice.

In this installment of What's in the
Box it's time to take a detailed look at the Kings
of War Skeleton Regiment from Mantic
Games.
Skeletons are the core of any Undead Army, both in Kings of
War and other fantasy table-top games, and this box delivers a great
combination of quantity, quality and value. The box assembles to make a regiment
of 20 skeleton warriors with a number of different weapons options, including
spears, swords and axes as well as options for a musician, standard bearer and
unit champion. There are also a bunch of additional detail parts, including a
skeletal dog, tombstone and different heads to choose from so that you can make
each of your units unique. Click to see the sprues up close.
One of my favourite things about units of skeletons is that they are really
quick and easy to paint. Once you've assembled the unit start by priming with
some Army Painter Skeleton
Bone Colour Primer and basecoat the details in your army's colour scheme.
Then give the models a wash or use some Quickshade
to give the miniatures shading and definition. With a little extra highlighting
and some basing materials they'll look great in no time.

In this first edition of What's in
the box? I'm checking out the Dreadball
Deluxe Boxed Set.
Dreadball is the futuristic sports miniatures board game produced by Mantic
Games and is rapidly developing a big following around in New Zealand and
around the world.
Set in Mantic's Warpath Universe the game mixes elements of
different football codes with a sci-fi Rollerball artstyle to create a
fun, action packed game for 2 players. A quick game will take around 30–60
minutes and you can even start your own league with detailed rules for MVP's,
player advancement and more.
