I had the pleasure of getting a sneak peek at the upcoming All
Blacks Rugby Challenge 2 on Friday last week.
Using the foundations of it's original predecessor All Blacks Rugby
Challenge, cosmetically there has been no major leap forward in the way it looks
.What Sidhe have done though is focused on making huge improvements on gameplay
so the gaming experience is much closer to the real thing – minus the
injuries and laundry of course!
Some of the additions to gameplay include quick taps, quick lineouts, mauls
from lineouts, interceptions, and contesting ball at the breakdown. If you sense
that you are losing a ruck now you can remove players and return them to the
defensive line. The number 8 now also has the ability to pick up the ball in
scrums.
The game includes the highly anticipated British and Irish Lions 2013 Tour
of Australia. Grant Nisbett and Justin Marshall return to the commentary team
and given the games popularity in France, French language commentary from Eric
Bayle and Thomas Lombard has been added.
The game was a blast to play, particularly when I intercepted the ball in my
own half and made a mad dash for the try line… the defence was too good though
and they took me down just short of the line – better luck next time. If you
are a gamer and fan of Rugby it's a no-brainer this is a must-have!
All Blacks Rugby Challenge 2 is coming to PS3 and Xbox 360 next month. Pre-order
