Company Improvements to Customer Service

4 comments Published in Support on 14 May 2012, 14:45 by Dylan

In an effort to further reduce the time it takes to reply to customer messages we've replaced our old internal messaging system with an all-new email based solution.

This means that from today onward when you start a new conversation with our trained service monkeys we'll reply to the email address associated with your account, rather than using the old messaging system built into the site.

To avoid any confusion or duplication of effort, existing conversations can be continued via the old system (unless there has been no activity in the past 30 days).

We've made this change because you've told us it's a hassle to log into your account to reply to messages, plus we're using Desk.com behind the scenes which has awesome tools to help us deal with enquiries faster and more efficiently.

If you have any questions please either drop us an email or leave a comment below! We'll continue to reply to most support enquiries within one business day and you can continue to phone us free during business hours on our 0800 number.

Thanks for shopping at Mighty Ape!

OK, so we've been bombarded with messages asking who won the Star Wars Xbox 360 console from our Easter Egg Hunt, and rightly so.

We'll get to that in a moment but here are some stats on the competition. Over 2500 of you attempted the Easter Egg Hunt and found at least one egg. Of those people, 2100 successfully found all of the hidden eggs and were entered into the draw for the prize. So the successful entrants had about a 0.05% chance of winning the prize – wowzers!

For those of you who did not find all of the eggs, here are the product pages where they were located:

OK, now for the important part. The winner of the amazing Xbox 360 Kinect Star Wars Limited Edition Console Bundle is… Steven Jones from Whanganui. Congratulations Steven, we'll be in touch soon to arrange for your prize to be sent to you.

Thank you for taking part in our Easter Egg Hunt, we hope you enjoyed it! :D

Company Games Mighty Ape's sneak peek at the PlayStation Vita

Add a comment Published in video, Community, Events and PlayStation Vita on 20 February 2012, 12:59 by Che

Mighty Ape and Sony teamed up last week to put on an event exclusively for Mighty Ape customers. One hundred or so gamers and Mighty Ape staff crammed into a bar in Auckland city on Wednesday night to get a sneak peek at the forthcoming PlayStation Vita.

The night opened with a brief presentation by Glen from Sony about their impressive new handheld console. He discussed it's many features including the dual anaolg sticks, touchscreen, rear touch pad, front and rear cameras, and the ability to use the Vita as a controller for your PS3. Following the presentation everyone was given the opportunity to have some hands-on time with the Vita and games including Uncharted, WipEout 2048, Little Deviants, Reality Fighters, and more.

It was a great night out! We wanted to share the night with everyone who couldn't make it to our preview night – there was only so many people we could cram into the bar – so we brought along a camera and had a chat with a few punters to get their thoughts on the amazing PlayStation Vita.

PlayStation Vita's launch is mere days away, Thursday to be precise, pre-order yours now to save $20 off the full price and receive it on release day!
