Video Games Day celebrates popular video games that have taken the world by storm. From Atari to Nintendo to Xbox, video games have changed the way kids and adults play and now represent one of the largest and fastest growing entertainment industries today.

We think it's a really great excuse for enthusiasts to take a day to play favourite games with mates, but it's also a time to reflect on how much an impact video games have had on our lives, and even an opportunity for non-gamers to give something new a try!

Bloodborne on PS4

I remember my first ever console – an Atari 2600 when I was 3. I have been gaming ever since for 3 decades!

In that time I have had hundreds of amazing and memorable gaming experiences, but the one game that takes the crown for me is Dark Souls. I have never been so obsessed with a game. From it's unforgiving nature, to its mysterious story telling, from its gritty and horrific locations to its brilliant soundtrack and character design – Dark Souls is truly a gamers game. Hidetaka Miyazaki is a genius.

As you can imagine, Bloodborne is now my most anticipated game :D

The Last of Us Tees

The breakout hit of 2013, The Last of Us gives us one of the best adventures for this generation as it follows Joel and Ellie on a story of not only survival but humanity as well. Here at Mighty Ape, we have the actual designs of the shirts worn by the characters in the game!

Watch Dogs Original Game Soundtrack

WATCH_DOGS is an amazing game for creating chaos while still managing to make the player think about the trade-off between freedom and security. The open-world playground is filled with engaging activities which provides an excellent addition to the main storyline.

Brian Reitzell's musical score for WATCH_DOGS is full of infectious beats and atmospheric, retro-futuristic synths that are ideal for a post-noir cyberpunk game. There's also an introspective and emotional feel to the score as required by the game's story, which is reflected in the album's sequencing, providing a well-rounded narrative-driven musical experience.
